Supreme Court adjourns decision on NEET-PG

The Supreme Court yesterday has deferred the much awaited verdict on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), by adjourning the hearing of the case to Nov 5th. Several institutions and educational bodies had approached court against NEET- the qualifying examination conducted towards admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all medical colleges.

The Supreme Court yesterday has deferred the much awaited verdict on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), by adjourning the hearing of the case to Nov 5th.

Several institutions and educational bodies had approached court against NEET- the qualifying examination conducted towards admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all medical colleges.

The Medical Council of India (MCI) had moved Supreme Court in order to avoid the time lag which may occur at various lower courts.

The National Board of Education (NBE) has already commenced practice tests for students appearing for NEET which is scheduled to be held from Nov 23rd to Dec 6th.The future of NEET will now be decided by the Supreme Court’s decision.
